leanAM started on the production floor. What we recommend, we have built ourselves, and what we develop runs through our own machines every day.
For years, manufacturers and consultants have promised that AM will revolutionize production. The reality in many plants looks different: isolated machines, missing software, hardly any integration into the value stream.
We founded leanAM to change that. We bring proper industrial tooling, advice that tells you the truth, and software that keeps running once the demo is over.
We see AM as an industrial technology. It needs industrial processes, industrial tooling and partners who run it themselves every day.
URBANMAKER is a German company with deep roots in manufacturing, technology and applied engineering. leanAM grew out of it as a focused brand for software, consulting and development around additive manufacturing.
Those roots run deep into additive manufacturing. URBANMAKER was involved from the early fundamental research in 3D printing and has helped advance the technology over the years — across the entire process chain, from hardware through software to the finished part. This knowledge comes from our own research, our own machine building and our own production, not from data sheets.
That know-how grew in projects with established research and field partners; these include the likes of the University of Münster, Münster University of Applied Sciences (FH Münster), Interreg projects, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), the German Red Cross (DRK) and many more.
This development work also produced our own products: the JobOx brand and a build-plate changing system for the continuous, productive operation of printer fleets. This understanding of the technology, built up over many years, is the basis of our work for customers today.
These principles govern how we take on projects, advise customers and write code.
We recommend nothing we have not built, integrated or operated ourselves. Reality beats roadmap.
Software belongs to the customer. Data belongs to the customer. We deliver on-premise, without vendor lock-in.
We also say “no” when a use case does not hold up. Better a hard truth than a comfortable project.
We build software that still runs in five years, and consulting results that hold up just as long.
The leanAM MES software runs on-premise at the customer's site, so live manufacturing data never leaves your infrastructure. This marketing website itself is delivered via Cloudflare Pages; you can find the details in our privacy policy.
For industries with elevated data protection and documentation requirements, this data sovereignty is a prerequisite. We deliver it at no extra charge.
