Bambu Lab A2L Without the Cloud — LAN-Only mode for the large format.

The A2L is Bambu Lab's large-format, open A-series printer — a bed-slinger with a big build volume and adaptive vibration compensation. Here too the cloud can be switched off. Here's how to run the A2L in LAN-Only mode.

What to keep in mind for the A2L in LAN-Only mode.

The A2L is a large-format open bed-slinger built for bigger parts at an affordable price; multi-material printing is possible via the AMS Combo. In LAN-Only mode the printer runs purely locally — printing and monitoring happen via the slicer on your own network.

As with the A1, the loss of the convenient Handy app is most noticeable in LAN-Only mode: remote access from outside the network drops out. Printing on your own network remains fully possible; the large build volume has no effect on this.

Enable LAN-Only mode — in brief

On the printer display: Settings → General → LAN-Only mode, then confirm.
The printer shows an access code and its local IP address.
In your slicer (Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer), add the printer via IP and access code.
Or print via microSD card with no network at all.

The exact menu wording may vary depending on firmware version.

Yes. The A2L supports LAN-Only mode and then operates exclusively on the local network. You print via Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer on the same network or via microSD card. App remote access from outside drops out.

Does the A2L's large build volume affect cloud-free operation?

No. The build volume has no effect on LAN-Only mode — the A2L works locally without the manufacturer cloud, regardless of part size.
