Bambu Lab P1P Without the Cloud — LAN-Only mode for the open CoreXY.

The P1P is Bambu Lab's open CoreXY entry into the fast core-moving design — no enclosure, but AMS-capable and modular. You can run it without the manufacturer cloud in LAN-Only mode too.

Basics

What to keep in mind for the P1P in LAN-Only mode.

The P1P is an open CoreXY printer built for speed at an entry price; an enclosure can be retrofitted and AMS multi-material printing is supported. For cloud-free operation the open design is irrelevant: in LAN-Only mode you print and monitor locally via the slicer on your own network.

As with the other models, LAN-Only mode removes remote access from outside the network and the cloud-bound convenience services. If you later upgrade the P1P toward a P1S, LAN-Only mode stays the same.

  • Open CoreXY, beginner-friendly, upgradeable with an enclosure
  • AMS multi-material printing and local monitoring on the network stay usable
  • Remote access from outside the LAN and cloud convenience drop out

Enable LAN-Only mode — in brief

  • On the printer display: Settings → General → LAN-Only mode, then confirm.
  • The printer shows an access code and its local IP address.
  • In your slicer (Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer), add the printer via IP and access code.
  • Or print via microSD card with no network at all.

The exact menu wording may vary depending on firmware version.

From single printer to fleet

Multiple Bambu Lab P1P without the cloud — but centrally managed.

LAN-Only mode solves cloud-free operation per device. For multiple printers in production you need central job, material, user and reporting management — data-sovereign, in house. That is exactly what leanAM MES adds as an on-premise system, across manufacturers and without cloud lock-in.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions — Bambu Lab P1P without the cloud.

Can you use the Bambu Lab P1P without the cloud?

Yes. The P1P supports LAN-Only mode and then operates exclusively on the local network. You print via Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer on the same network or via microSD card. Cloud convenience features such as remote access from outside drop out.

Does LAN-Only mode stay after upgrading toward a P1S?

LAN-Only mode is a firmware feature and independent of hardware add-ons such as an enclosure or fans. The exact feature set depends on the installed firmware version.

How do I run multiple P1P without the cloud in a company?

For centrally operating several P1P printers, an on-premise MES such as leanAM augments local control with job, material and user management — without cloud dependency.
