The X1E is tailored for use in companies and adds extended security and network features over the X1 Carbon. That makes it well suited to data-sovereign operation: in LAN-Only mode, print and status data stay on your own network.
On the X1E too, LAN-Only mode removes remote access from outside the network and cloud-bound convenience services. For regulated environments that is often exactly what's wanted. The exact feature set is determined by the installed firmware.
The exact menu wording may vary depending on firmware version.
LAN-Only mode solves cloud-free operation per device. For multiple printers in production you need central job, material, user and reporting management — data-sovereign, in house. That is exactly what leanAM MES adds as an on-premise system, across manufacturers and without cloud lock-in.
